Adrian Di Bisceglie

Dr. Di Bisceglie completed his medical school education and internal medicine residency in South Africa before coming to the NIH in Bethesda, MD to complete a fellowship in liver diseases. There, he rose through the ranks to become Chief of the Liver Diseases Section before moving to join the faculty of Saint Louis University in 1994. He served on the faculty there for 25 years, including a 12 year period as Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and he is now an Emeritus Professor. Most recently Dr Di Bisceglie served as Chief Medical Officer for HighTide Therapeutics since 2019 to 2022 and is now a consultant in the biotech arena.
His research has been in the area of viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma and he has been the recipient of NIH funding to conduct both clinical and laboratory-based research in these areas. Dr. Di Bisceglie is author or co-author of more than 500 original articles and book chapters in the medical literature. He served for 5 years on the governing Board of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and was president of that professional organization in 2014.
Dr Di Bisceglie is the recipient of a number of awards including a White House Certificate of Appreciation, in association with AASLD, in recognition of leadership in prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis on World Hepatitis Day 2014, the AASLD Distinguished Service Award in 2018 and the Outstanding St. Louis Scientist Award from the Academy of Science of St. Louis
